Field Trips and the Classical Christian Education
Field trips are a vital part of a Classical Christian education. Reading or hearing about something typically pales in comparison to actually experiencing it. We plan day trips in most grades to places that enhance the learning that is taking place in the classroom and to provide a way for students to further enjoy their education outside the classroom desks and chairs.
Field trips are also a way to promote listening skills, obedience to authority and respect for other people and property. But, primarily field trips give students an opportunity to enjoy the gift of adventure and awe in experiencing God’s creation and His people. While every grade has at least one day trip, Hickory Christian Academy also provides overnight trips in our upper grades to maximize particular sections of learning from our curriculum.
